Vision
- This could become the central piece of a platform we provide.
- Together with tokenomics diagrams and articles this could become the go-to location for investors to learn about fundamentals of protocols.
- New tokens might even reach out to us in order to get listed.
- Potential avenue for premium type content.
- NGMI Score to quickly rate the legitimacy of a project
NGMI Score Idea
We recorded a Ponzi podcast that will be out on Thursday and as part of that thought about that the level of 'ponziness' is a spectrum that we might be able to evaluate for a project.
We thought about calling it the NGMI-score; the higher the score the more likely it is a Ponzi, pyramid or zero-sum-game. We could start with a simple set of questions to get and idea of the 'ponziness'. Later we could add some fancy evaluation calculation to create a score.
Here are some initial ideas on questions:
- Is new money needed to keep the system alive?
- Does the project have intrinsic value? Does it increase? How is value created?
- Does it return any yield/dividend? Is it clear where that comes from? Are the returns promised by the protocol / app?
- Is there a belief system involved? How strong is the belief in the system?
- How many tokens where distributed to founders/team/investors etc.?
- Can the initiative continue without the leader/founder?
- consistent returns regardless market conditions,
